Forewarning: This review is going to be VERY biased. I have been visiting Redhill Coffee Shop (Redhill Café) ever since I was a little kid with my dad. Even then I remember the owner always being friendly and greeting us. I loved going there so much that after I got stationed in California I started to go there semi regularly. On the day of my mother's wedding I went in dressed for the occasion (she asked me to wear one of my dress uniforms) and the owner took special care to come introduce him self to me and told me about his prior service in the Air Force. The next day when I went back in Civilian clothes he remembered me and from then on he's never forgotten my name and even graced me with his presence at my 21st birthday party at Limericks Tavern (also a great place. Definitely worth checking out) With that said here are some things that you should know about the restaurant. It has always been and most likely will always be cash only. The owner is just shy of 80 years old and he's not interested in changing the way he runs business. There is no ATM inside; however there is an ATM across the street if you don't come prepared. A lot of people immediately jump on the steak and eggs, but just as a helpful tip the best food that they have are their omelets and biscuits and gravy. This establishment is extremely military friendly and if the owner is working and finds out your military be prepared for him to want to talk (and be prepared for an awesome discount. Tip appropriately!) Parking can be iffy sometimes and if you go on a weekend expect to wait for a table since this place is always packed. Due to the fact that it's a pretty small place they have some problems with people overstaying their welcome. They have had to ask patrons to leave numerous times because they will spend 30+ min sitting at their table after finishing eating while the line grows longer and longer outside with no regard to the people around them. They do not rush you through your meal by any means, but do try to keep in mind that they are trying to keep the traffic flowing. All in all I have been visiting Redhill regularly for the last 3 years and I always stop in when I'm visiting from San Diego. It is by far my favorite breakfast place I've eaten at and bring friends and famil in as much as possible whenever possible. Check them out and tell Jim Ethan says hi if you do!

I have been going here for years. My favorite item on the menu is the club sandwich. There is nothing like it in town. I also love the fries and onion rings. Service is great, the waitresses make you feel welcomed. I would recommended this place to anyone who is on a budget because their prices are great.

This was seriously the best breakfast I've had in a very long time. The eggs were amazing. Normally at places like this you get the overcooked eggs that taste like nothing. These were cooked perfectly. The bacon was cooked to perfection and it wasn't just one or two tiny pieces. It was 4 or 5 large pieces. I'd recommend this place to everyone. It was so good. Best place to eat breakfast in the area.

We wanted breakfast close to Roger Dunn in Santa Ana and my hubby wanted pancakes. I Yelp'd and found Red Hill. The reviews sounded great and the pics showed yummy looking food so off we went. Pulling up we were not too impressed, on a corner right next to a very old, dumpy looking car garage. The outside appearance of the restaurant is super simple something you would see out in the country of a very small town. Of course the 'help wanted' sign made me think 'oh service will take a long time'; nevertheless, I also said 'a lot of these hole- in-the-wall restaurants are the best. We ventured in and definitely it was as simple inside. The inside interior looks like it has been around a long time and unfortunately not as clean as I would have liked, but then I am OCD when it comes to cleanliness. All tables with chairs, no booths plus a counter. Okay so onto the stuff that really matters, our waitress was super sweet and come to find out it is a family business, owned and operated. Actually has been open for 24ish years. The business has put the kids through college. Now that is an awesome story. We did order pancakes which were delicious, fluffy and extremely tasty. We love our bacon crispy and it was made to our satisfaction. Our eggs were suppose to be over medium and they came out wrong and too runny, but hey no problem our waitress took them back and had the cooks make them correctly. Perfect the second time around. Also ordered their home fries adding onion and bell pepper. They were outstanding. Our food was out in no time at all and we enjoyed every last bite. Once again, the service was hometown with a lot of friendliness. The prices are super reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. So if you are in Santa Ana close to Dyer and the 55 fwy, I strongly suggest stopping in for a bite to eat. They serve breakfast and lunch only. Nice hours for the employees. Closed on Sunday's, good for them. I must say a lot of local business men/women came in while we were dining so they are well known in the area. Again, don't let the outside of the building fool you venture in and enjoy!! **They now have an ATM machine located inside because it is cash only, so prepare your wallet appropriately** lol

Not Good ...sándwich too pricey and ham was old. The onion rings were falling apart and we're not even fried at location... Didn't look fresh. The coffee was ok except that it wAs such a tiny cup. Just get bigger cups so that the waitress won't have to keep asking " do you want refill" ...I will not visit again unless I had to eat there for some reason. Also they only want cash...

Red Hill coffee shop is honestly the best dining in restaurant I have ever been to!! The service is Amazing and they greet you the moment you walk in!! The cooks work really fast as well as the waitresses..We didn't even wait 10 minutes for our food!! Their pancakes are huge and delicious!! Definitely recommend their Country steak and eggs plate!!!

This down-to-earth Homey, industrial area diner will be getting five stars from me for taking me to a simpler time before TV's. I don't know how long this restaurant has been in business but sometimes it just doesn't matter!!! This is the kind of place where you get up early get some coffee and go to work, and then when it's Breaktime you just walk over from your industrial area job and go eat breakfast.(if you're the boss!) My food choice was limited due to cash on hand since I ordered before I saw the ATM. I had The bacon or sausage breakfast, You get four pieces of me and I mixed it to two and two. You have a choice of home fries or hashbrowns two eggs and choice of toast. The sausage I had were like the banger type, small sausage, smooth skinned, not the rough texture ones if you know what I mean. Eggs were standard and the hashbrowns were the loose type. I really liked the bacon slices they were very thin, very crispy, very flat, with a uniformly crisp crunch. Directions: from the 55 freeway take Dyer and go West. location is between Main Street and Grand ave. They do have a "2+2+2" for $4.something! An example, customer walked in and wanted a glass of milk the waitress went to a glass door cooler opened it got out a gallon of milk in a plastic jug poured it in a glass and served the customer! Now where else can you get that in SoCal? Thats what was so "Coolfunky" to me garnering my 5 stars! Reminded me of eating in an Aunty's kitchen.

This has been one of my favorite quick breakfast and lunch places for over 25 years. Old worn out classic building with great people and really good food. By far my favorite Pastrami sandwich anywhere.

  • Daniel Z.

I was looking for a place that was open early (these guys are open at 5:30 am) and that was a step up from processed fast food. Red Hill Cafe is no-nonsense (not even a parsley garnish) basic american, truck stop food. I had two eggs, perfectly over easy, sourdough toast, split polish sausage and home fries with coffee. All under $10. It is, what claims to be, I like that.

  • Lin D.

We wanted to try a new breakfast place. We like the idea of supporting family run businesses but not this one. The decor is very old, dated and dusty; lots of old pictures of the owner with celebrities form at least 40-50 years ago. They told us it would be 20 minutes but it actually took us 60 minutes to get in. The seating area is very small and cramped and our waitress was very slow. It took about 20 minutes before we could order and about 40 minutes to get our food. Other tables seated after us got their orders before us. The hash browns were great but the omelet I got was mediocre. You get one free refill of soda & juice (that was a nice surprise and it was large as well) but it took forever to get the refill. We won't go back.

Red hill cafe is a small cute breakfast diner. The service is great. The staff is always friendly and service is prompt. Breakfast here is really good. Definitely one of my favorite breakfast diners

Another local breakfast joint. The food was just okay, nothing that wow'ed my socks off. Their french toast disappointed me, the syrup was flavorless... I was so sad. After my 10K at Disneyland all I wanted was french toast. And they're cash only. BOO

This is the kind of gem we south OC-ers rarely get to enjoy (and no, Paul's Pantry, you so do not count) -- just a greasy breakfast spoon with more "specials" than you can shake a stick at. The kinda place where you're gonna want that small shotglass mug of coffee to wash down the delicious artery-clogging goodness that you're about to inhale. Country fried steak, eggs overmedium, home fries well done, rye toast. Portion size was just right and everything was done nicely. Yummy buttery fluffy eggs, crispy potatoes, gravy could use a little salt but otherwise it was creamy and nicely complementary to the batter of the 'steak.' For just a hair over $10 with my coffee, I just can't complain. Service was efficient, and there's one lone ranger who's the sheriff of this town. She knows the orders of the regulars, and she sacrifices chit-chat for work. It's a straight up blue collar kinda joint, and I definitely dig it. Solid four stars. CASH ONLY.

I'm Juliano and this is my friend Ashley! I'm visiting from Hawaii and we looked on yelp for great breakfast and found this old school gem! Yummy food! Home fries are delicious!

Woke up late at the nearby "full of kids" Hampton on a Saturday weekend and the free breakfast was not looking hopeful. So at our request the desk recommended the Red Hill Cafe, just a few blocks away. We loved it! Not fancy, but clean, friendly, and quick, generous, very delicious breakfast for a great price. This is where the locals come - we can't wait to come back Monday:) We had a made-to-order breakfast sandwich and the chorizo and eggs scramble and both were perfect. My husband noticed a lot of attention to detail of cleanliness, order, and care. This is well worth passing up the free hotel breakfast. Note: cash only but ATM inside.

Had a meeting close by so stopped by here early for breakfast. It's a cool spot. Service is seat yourself and fast. I had a Breakfast burrito with hash browns and coffee. Super filling food and good portion for cheap. Will try French toast or pancakes next time I return.

  • Adelaide T.

Server was very friendly. Food was great. Fast service. Price was reasonable. I ordered corned beef that comes with home fries(onions/greenbellpepper), white bread, 2 eggs, and black tea. Will definitely come back to try other menu.

  • Jackie M.

Been passing by this place and finally decided to try it out. I pretty much knew I wanted eggs Benedict but I changed my mind the last minute and ordered country fried steak instead. Fast service and big servings...I wasn't disappointed. Came with a biscuit ,hash browns and two eggs. Enough for two people I think. I only ate half of my plate and I was full. I would rate the food 3 1/2 stars and the place 3 stars because it needs to be upgraded. Over all it was an ok experience. I would come back for the food but only for take out.

I needed to drop my sister at SNA airport "early" and before going into work. I decided breakfast sounded good. This is not a fancy place, it's a casual coffee shop. I sat at the counter and ordered corned beef hash and eggs. Although the hash was canned, the server told me in advance so I knew what to expect. They crisped it nicely. They cooked my over medium eggs, perfectly over medium. I opted for fruit instead of potatoes, canned peaches were nostalgic! Good coffee, good service.

Lunch fare. Not impressed. Food was mediocre. Decor was ugly. Maybe their breakfast is there speciality since lunch was bad.

Best Breakfast!! I first started coming here as a child with my parents. I never understood why we drove across town for breakfast instead of just stopping at the near by Denny's or Ihop. Now that i'm older, I understand the trip was well worth it. I last came here on Saturday and brought my friend for the first time. This place is a diamond in the rough. It's a cute family owned restaurant and the service is excellent. We didn't have to wait to be seated. The food came out quickly and oh boy was that food delicious! I had the 2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage, toast, and home potatoes with sauteed onions and bell peppers. My friend had an avocado, cheese, bell pepper, mushroom, and spinach omelet. My friend was skeptic of the place first but after the first bite he was hooked! I loved the potatoes, they were full of flavor and the veggies were just right, not too soggy. We never had an empty cup of coffee or water. We ended up paying around $14 for both breakfasts and drinks, plus tip= $20 for two people was not bad at all! The only down side is that it is cash only, but there is an ATM inside. So, to save yourself the fees make sure to come with cash. I will most definitely be coming back here again to try more things.!

Down home, basic diner food. Tasty and generous portions. Fast, friendly service. Cheapest prices ever. Ever. If you can find one cheaper, message me.

  • O G.

Our regular breakfast place, nothing fancy, but great food, very warm "family like" service, and decent prices. Consistent quality. Greek Omlette is my favorite. If the parking lot is full, park along the side street -- more than enough space for everyone.

Breakfast was delicious! Great prices and service. Love the hometown diner atmosphere. Will definitely be back when in town. Definitely recommend the Chorizo Scramble with Home-fries with onions and peppers. Yummo!

  • Mindy C.

Stopped here on our way home because of other reviews, portions were big, food was great, and service was fast. The only downside is they only take cash but I am sure that is what keeps them so cheap....check it out if you are in the area...

authentically awesome. anything made with eggs is great. the pastrami, delicious. and as a throw back to my youth, I love the grape jelly packs for my wheat toast.

BEST BREAKFAST in town..price is reasonable, service is excellent and food is really good. Had the sun rise breakfast; scrambled eggs with chopped onion, bell pepper and ham, served with your choice of hash browns or home fries.. and toast..it's delicious. They also have a breakfast special 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2bacon or sausage for 4.99 my kids loved it, probably big enough to share. It is cash only, they do however have an ATM inside. So if you're ever on this side of town I recommend u going to red hill cafe and having the sunrise breakfast.

Great little inexpensive diner/greasy spoon. Friendly, expedient service and decent grubbins. I had the b-fast burrito and let me tell you brother- it was freakin' massive and loaded with meats with a giant heaping of hash browns on the side.

So my first day of work at a new place, I drove out for lunch and this was the first restaurant I see. Looked like a nice place to have lunch from the outside so I drove in and parked my car. I opened the door and wow. All eyes on me. Tons of white people sitting down and they were just dogging me. Even the waitress turned around and looked at me like a deer and headlights. (With the you ain't welcomed here look). All this happened in about 3 seconds. I immediately turned around and shut the door. I guess my kind ain't welcomed here. This place should be called redneck cafe. Or at least have a warning sign for us non White folks.

Some reason I always have an affinity for diners, and breakfast foods. For starters they serve Farmer Brothers coffee. It reminded me of the coffee shop my grandfather once owned. It turns out the coffee wasn't bad at all, just in Irvine they would never serve anything like that. Onto the food. All the diners in So. Cal have a bit of the Mexican flavors so you get items like chorizo and huveros rancheros. But looking at the menu I came across 2 eggs and steak for $7.49. I haven't seen a deal like this since the 1980's. So how was the food? For the price I'm nit going to complain too much bit te steak was a bit medium when I asked for medium rare. Portion wise the steak was 1/4 inch thick seasoned with salt and pepper. The hash browns were plentiful, although you can tell they were made earlier and kept warm. Service was quick and snappy my meal came less than 5 minutes after ordering. If you want a down to earth place to get q bite this is it. It's not too far from the district in Tustin. But I think Norms is still the place to beat.

Their eggs Benedict are the best

  • Lily A.

This place is close to work for me and yet I've never noticed it until now. It looks old from the outside and it's old from the inside as well. But it does give off a homey charm to it. And it seemed busier than I thought it would be. I guess people will mostly just come here to grab a quick lunch. We just went in for takeout...I saw they had breakfast burritos, so we both ordered some breakfast burritos, which was on the "specials" board and is served all day for an extra charge if past 11am. The breakfast burrito itself was pretty big, but it was just okay...nothing special. I've had better. Maybe next time I come here I'll try something else. Not the breakfast burrito.

Cool little place. Good food, good portions for a great price. Nice and clean with super service by very friendly people. The Chile Verde Omelet was good but not outstanding. Nice tender chunks of pork and flavorful chile verde sauce but it just seemed to be missing a little something....maybe some cotija cheese? The Chorizo Breakfast Burrito was very nice...and very big. Chorizo was flavorful and blended well with the eggs in this nice little package. The Greek Omelet was nice as well. Spinach, tomatoes and feta cheese wrapped up in fluffy eggs. A really nice, flavorful meal. The hash browns are plentiful and crispy tender. This is definitely a little hole in the wall you might miss but if you get the chance, check it out. Great value for your money and enjoyable food and atmosphere with nice people. What's not to like?

Decent food. Good service. Nothing is really cheap anymore anywhere I guess. I'll be back, but not frequently. Had Chile Verde omelette and peaches, substituted for hashbrowns for free. Water to drink. It is getting hard to get filled up for less than $12 per meal, but I have a big appetite. Bill was $7.55

**ALERT - Solid Gold Value - Hidden Gem** Oh yeah, a real working man's cafe. You could eat breakfast and lunch here including drinks and tips for $20. For breakfast FORGET the menu, I don't know why they even give it to you. All the specials are what your looking, probably a dozen for breakfast alone. Omelets and other stuff range $5.50-6.50. I had the Spanish Omelet, $5.25 + coffee = $7.60. Very good, authentic, fresh made ranchero sauce! Fresh cut home fries with grilled onions and peppers, just the right amount. Plus toast. Served piping hot. The use of American Cheese kinda threw me since the rest was so good and authentic? But, I actually like American Cheese anyway. Service was quick and efficient. It's fairly big inside with a large (10 seat?) counter. Looks clean and well maintained. If the rest of the Mexican dishes are as good as the Ranchero Sauce you got a real winner here. For cheap!! How ' bout a Burger, Fries and soda for $5.25? There's way too much to remember but, I saw Chili Verde, Chorizo, Breakfast Burrito, Pastrami, etc. Check it out. M-F 530am - 230pm Sat 630am - 100pm Closed Sunday CASH ONLY - ATM "Machine" available.

I went here for breakfast. The Huevos Rancheros were strange for me (I live in Texas) because they were buried between a layer of beans smeared on a tortilla and covered with a poor-quality salsa and cheese! What the hell! This isn't Huevos Rancheros, a clean delicious dish with fried eggs on a tortilla with a little salsa. The hashbrowns on the other hand were delicious. With coffee my bill came to over $8.00. I wouldn't call this a bargain place at all. The food was OK (thanks to the hashbrowns). Cleanliness (as far as I could see) was good. Service was so-so... so, the result is three stars but really close to two.

I've probably been a fan and regular customer of Red Hill Cafe since the late 1970's. I used to work down the street on Dyer, so RHC was the perfect breakfast and lunch diner. (Not both on the same day! I couldn't eat that much food in so few hours). The Cafe really shines at breakfast! I am very picky about my eggs, and 9 times out of 10 they are done the way I like them. The potatoes are amazing, both the hash browns and the home fried with peppers and onions. Sausages are ok, but bacon has that "buffet" taste, which makes me think they weren't cooked to order. The French toast and pancakes are outstanding. Even the Eggs Benedict are good. Coffee is tasty and quickly refilled. The hamburger special lunch is great and a good value. I also like their other lunch specials, Hot Beef Sandwich, Meat Loaf, Hot Turkey Sandwich, Chicken fried steak, and some kind of cod on Friday. The price has gone up though. Today I paid a little over $10 including tax but not tip for a hot roast turkey sandwich with gravy and mash. (plus salad). Now that I am retired, I even will sometimes drive down to Santa Ana, just for breakfast at RHC.

Good little breakfast spot, has a wide menu with lot's of variety (classic and mexican dishes) and serves a good cup of endless coffee. The place is clean, and the service was good. They had several specials for those on a budget. 2 eggs, 2 meat and 2 big fluffy pancakes for under $5.00. Ambiance is old school white and red decor and very clean. Very well run coffee shop the serves the local businesses nearby.

What would you do if you ordered from a diner where the waitresses were really nice, the menu was perfect diner style fare, there was a casual, genuine retro vibe, easy parking, cheap pricing....and a large cockroach ran out of your fries when you opened up the container back at your office? If you said give it 1 star on Yelp - you read my mind!

Very nice people and good food for the price. I would have given a 4 but they allowed us to stay after they closed, even after we said we would take it to go. ***CASH ONLY!!!*** Though I believe they have an ATM machine, but it's best to just bring cash so you don't get charged. Atmosphere: ok Old Diner feel, not super amazing but it's a nice change of pace. Food: Great for the price For less than $10 a person you'll have more food than you should eat. Plus it tastes pretty good. Home potatoes were really good. Plus you can ask them to do substitutions for things on the menu, I got their special but I had them put a different type of meat and was very pleased. Also, look at their specials on the wall. Parking: Pretty good -They have their own lot, that is shared with a car service place, but there was plenty of spaces when we went. Service: Very good The woman was very nice, courteous, and let us stay even though they closed. I was impressed.

Red Hill Cafe is an obscure diner between Main and the 55 freeway on Dyer. It is across Dyer from a tile company and shares a parking lot with a mechanic shop. Talk about hole in the wall. It is only open for breakfast and lunch Mon thru Sat. Closed Sunday. From the outside to the inside this is a no frills place. The table and chairs are old. The chair at the counter I had keep turning me to the left. Not annoying but oddly charming. The menu is breakfast and lunch but look out for the different menu and offerings posted on the wall behind the counter. There was only one girl manning the front of the restaurant. She was very pleasant and as attentive as possible. The food was solid. The pancakes were thick and heavy. Two pancakes were plenty. They were a sponge for syrup. It kept disappearing as soon as I put it on the pancakes. The bacon was crispier than I like it but no big deal. The price was OK. A big hearty breakfast for under $9. It kept me full a good part of the day. Make sure to bring cash or be prepared to use their ATM. Overall, if you are looking for a straight forward, no frills diner this is your place.

No big bells or whistles here but great for breakfast any day of the week! A basic diner with daily specials that include things like meatloaf sandwiches, etc. It's located in an industrial area so lots of truck drivers frequent this place which means inexpensive meals, always a plus! One downside, it's a cash only place, but they do have an ATM if you totally forget.

  • Glenn G.

After passing by this place for the last 5 years, I thought I should give it a try. I wasn't disappointed. It's nothing fancy, it's just a diner, but that's what makes it so good. They have a good menu and decent prices, the service was good and the food arrived fast and hot. It was a nice refreshing change from the everyday fast food selection around here. I gave them 5 stars just for doing what they do best.

  • Rebekah D.

Wow!!! Great food, and fast service. My mom and I were staying in Santa Ana for a couple of day, and decided to try this place. The food was good and the service was fast and friendly. I would definately go there again. The one thing that they could add would be ice cream, and shakes. Otherwise perfect.

Just an obscure little cafe that serves up the industrial area that surrounds it. It's right on Dyer on the way to the 55 freeway from Main St. or Bristol, but I have never really noticed it before trying it for the first time a week ago, usually just fly by it on my way to somewhere else Great breakfasts with specials til 11 (they will serve bf all day) and all around good american food, with a few mexican specialties mingled in like a chorizo scramble, or a chile verde omelette. Good casual diner, with decent service and surprisingly good food

This was a great bang for your buck breakfast. It kept us full until lunch with hearty chorizo omlette and Chile Verde omlette. The carnitas and chorizo were both great meats. Chorizo was very flavorful and carnitas were super tender. Service was good and you can't beat the price.

I used to work around here and would frequent it every time possible. The waitresses are great. Food is awesome. Quiet place to get a bit to eat and read the paper. I will represent this place as long as they are in business. The food is tacty, it's fast. Godd if you got some time to kill, or for the always in a hurry type

I had high hopes for this place, as I love a good breakfast dive. And it certainly looks the part. But the food was disappointing. I can't remember exactly what we had but I wouldn't recommend this place. I definitely remember semi-raw and cold hashbrowns.

Love this place for a great breakfast! You can't go wrong with the omelets or daily specials. Their portions are wonderful and the ingredients are always fresh. Their prices are affordable, and I like the "run down" diner feel cause it's really hard to find anything resembling a diner spot in OC! Maybe my diner fix has increased with the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives! Aka the show with the dude in those Applebee's commercials! Man, the best food does come from the most obscure of places. Both of the Spanish omelet and pork chile verde omelet are excellent. I recommend the home fries instead of the hasbrowns..they are slightly crisp and mixed in with onions and peppers. It goes with the omelet nicely. It is cash only though! You can have a great meal for under $10!

Two words.... STAY AWAY. In my first and only visit today I walk in to order a burger combo. I asked if I'm able to add bacon to my burger as it didn't state anywhere on their menu I can and the lady working says "Yes". So I placed my order thinking everything was ok. I get back to the office and to my surprise there was no bacon on my burger. I should have known to stay away when I walked in and the only people there was one customer who looked like something you'd see in a scary movie, two cooks that look like they're cooking something else besides food and the lady who took my order. Now, I can understand if there was a large group of people a mistake can happen but I was essentially the only one ordering food in the whole place. THE ONLY ONE....... It's not that hard people. Personally, I think the lady who took my order also gave me my order but most likely ate my bacon. When examining the burger patty it looked like something I really can't describe. I was truly scared to eat it. Long story short, the place, the food, the service and the over all quality of this place is just crap. Do yourself a favor and go to McDonalds or another place in Santa Ana.

Your typical greasy spoon. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. I did not notice the food to be good or bad, it was as expected. I did think the prices were fair.

Dude! Looking for a hole in the wall diner? This is the PLACE. Looking like a simple diner from somewhere in Iowa, this place is located right on Dyer road. Nothing fancy but the service is friendly and the cooking is down home. It gets five shiny stars out of five not for being fancy gourmet but for being the best hole in the wall diner in the OC. Get thee to the Redhill Cafe! Now go! Get! Get going! The meatloaf is calling!! "eat me" "eat me" "eat me"!!!!

I yelped this place and it was a great find you can't miss it Red Hill Cafe sign clearly posted located om the corner. As I walk towards the restaurant you can tell its been here awhile so I walk thru the door it takes me back to the mid 80s I love it super cozy and you can seat your self the waitress here is so friendly & courteous I feel like I'm at home but the only difference is i have to pay for my food Ugh! So me & my lovely sister came in to feed the beast that lives within us when your starving! Roar... we go over the menu and they serve breakfast & lunch only! & only except $CASH$ my sister got the special 2 fluffy pancakes scrambled eggs & 4 sausage Mmmmm I was undecided and asked the waitress for a sample of the roast beef which was the daily special for Monday she was more than happy to bring me a slice of roast beef and let me tell you it was tender, seasoned to perfection I loved it so I ordered the special open face roastbeef sandwich on top of white bread with your choice of potato I got mine with mash potato and gravy on the side I enjoyed every bite it was delicious and my sister breakfast was great pancakes were so lite and fluffy And let me tell you we ordered our food and it came to the table in less than 15 Minutes including ordering wow and it was piping hot!!!! Service here is duper super, fast! The waitress was sweet as pie I really enjoyed everything about this place the smells from the kitchen the staff it was a pleasant dining experience. I highly recommend This place so if your in the area and you want some home cooking at great prices come here and check This place out you won't be disappointed

I expected so much from this place since I've been here before. This place was known to serve huge portion. (That's why it's pricy too). I came here with my bf and cousin. I told him it was one of the best cafe. So he was expecting something out of ordinary. ....... ...... ....... ..... long story short, when we got our omelet it was nothing like before.... omelet was small and there was hardly stuff in it...... and I looked at the other tables they had the omelet that I was expecting..... and I was thinking I have to pay the same amount of price which I only got half of what we should be getting .....hmmmmmmm and you hear employees arguing in the kitchen

For what it is, not bad. We were in the area, needed some breakfast-y type items, and came by. Parking may be a little difficult. It's in a center shared with auto mechanics, so you'll see other cars parked in the parking lot, waiting to be repaired. We came by on a Saturday around 11am. Luckily, one car was already pulling out, so we took that space. Came in, was told we could take any seat, was given our menus. We ordered our waters, checked out the menu, and let them know what we wanted. I ended up getting a breakfast burrito with wet sauce, while hubby got a short stack of pancakes, bacon, and eggs. My burrito was definitely pretty huge, and very tasty. Loved the awesome filling inside. Hubby's bacon was huge and crispy, and his pancakes were light and fluffy. Scrambled eggs were pretty good, too. Probably will be back if we're in the area. Cash only. Good portion sizes. Service was friendly. Good selection of breakfast items.

Great value for the money and no one can beat their breakfast special menu! Tastes like a home cooked breakfast with generous portions especially with the bacon/sausage! We always walk out feeling good that we didn't break our wallets yet received so much in return.

Order pancakes, french toast and eggs Benedict. Nothing better than a great tasting home cooked type of meal.

Good breakfast, good service and convenient parking. The coffee was good but my sunny side eggs were slightly undercooked. I was not a huge fan of the "Red Hill breakfast". The breaded, chicken fried steak thingy between the biscuits just didn't do it for me. The pork chops were a little dry and on the thin side. But overall, had a good experience here and would come back when I'm in the hood to try their bacon and sausage. Again, nothing special here, good portions of diner food at a value. Bring cash.

Really a 3.5 rating. Driving up, I guess I didn't like how it felt very industrial. The outside parking lot was filled with 18wheel-trailers and trucks. At least my little Honda found a lovely little spot that she fit nicely into! :P This place is fairly quick with service and getting you on your way but in the nicest way possible. They don't have much in terms of TVs, but the wait staff are friendly and super chatty. They know their regulars and they treat their newcomers like family. We really appreciated the smiles and the friendly conversation before, during and after our meal. The pancakes are delicious! Light and fluffy with just a hint of either cardamon vanilla, or hazelnut...couldn't figure it out...but it was just the essence of that spice that made those pancakes awesome! The Greek omelette was good too. They paird up nicely. I think they have some great options with chorizo or bacon...maybe I need to go with those next time. The coffee is regular diner coffee, not the finest around but great with the meal. Overall a great place to grab a bite to eat.

This unassuming little diner is located on Main and Dyer and has a pretty small parking lot that it shares with a couple other auto-type businesses. I know I've driven by this place a couple times but I never gave it much thought. My cousin and I decided to check this place out after learning it was only a 5 minute drive from my apartment complex. We realized upon arrival that it was a cash only place and thankfully he had enough cash on him for the two of us. I ordered the chicken fried steak with two eggs over easy and a side of hash browns. I also asked for an English muffin. My cousin ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo and hash brown. We also had two cups of coffee. I couldn't finish my entree since there was a hell of a lot of country gravy on the steak but what I could eat was pretty good...not Tennessee good, but not bad for out here. They could work on their gravy to steak ratio. My cousin ended up eating half his burrito and boxing the rest for later. We decided to eat at the counter and received excellent service. Who am I kidding? The place is small so I know everyone received prompt and friendly service. It's a nice little greasy spoon and I wouldn't mind coming back with friends or on my own. Just remember to bring cash.

In search for a weekend breakfast spot, we found this place to look promising. Reviews seemed decent and when we drove up the parking lot was full. It did have a cute, diner vibe out of a pit stop on a road trip. The service was prompt, and the workers were nice, but the food was awful. The orange juice tasted extremely sweet, like it was probably one of those fake 1% tampico juices. I got a breakfast burrito that was huge, but flavorless. I ordered chorizo with it, and it lacked any flavor, - which should be virtually impossible since you are eating one of the most sodium flavor filled meats in Mexican food. The burrito itself was extremely oily, like dripping from the sides, really unnecessary. I couldn't finish it. My man got the eggs and hash and was also disappointed. We ordered a side of bacon and that was too crispy and dry.Unfortunately we will not be coming back.

Being in the service industry it's hard to find a perfect place to eat . But I have , this morning I had the perfect greek omelet and nothing was over cooked , the eggs fluffy and full of flavor . My pancakes were so light and soft they melted in my mouth .... not to mention the service was fast efficient and super friendly ...

I stayed at the Doubletree Hotel .7 miles away so I just walked here. The best places to eat are what I consider a hole in the wall. No frills, but great food with great prices and great portions. If in the area this is the place that is worth going too. It only takes cash, so be prepared for that.

I'll keep this one short and sweet. Red Hill Cafe is not quite what I was expecting but I probably needed to lower my expectations. It's a diner in an industrial area of town that serves yummy food but there isn't any ambiance. I love diners, but i love a side of ambiance with my food, too. The parking area is very small, the food is good and the service was friendly. If you're looking for a place to have breakfast on a weekend morning, this probably isn't what you're looking for. If you need a quick bite to eat while you're out and about, then this may be the place for you.

Solid diner food. Had the pastrami scramble w/hash browns & toast. Scramble was good (scrambled eggs + pastrami pieces, onions), hashbrowns could've been a little more crispier. The person I was with had eggs, bacon, pancakes. Eggs were a little undercooked. All in all, pretty good for a diner but nothing out of this world. I'd go again if I was in town, for a quick breakfast.

Came here this past Saturday for breakfast/brunch/lunch with my boyfriend and thought this was such a great hole-in-the-wall! I ordered the eggs benedict, which was beyond fantastic. The english muffin is SUPER thin, which is awesome, because I get to really enjoy the whole thing as opposed to getting stuffed on the muffin part. My boyfriend had just a plain cheese burger - nothing mind blowing--which is exactly what he wanted. I thought the service was fantastic. The server, this "lone ranger" I read in one of the reviews is the real deal. She's super friendly, but she's definitely about her job and I can really appreciate that. I'm definitely excited to come back -- next time, pancakes!

This is a great place to get a fantastic breakfast and support a local family business. I've been going here for over 10 years, when in the area. The prices and service are the best around. I highly recommend trying it, you won't be disappointed.

Hmmm...Maybe I ordered the wrong items.. On the tab French Toast Meal with sausage & 2 eggs Egg whites, home fries, wheat toast, & 2 pieces of bacon Total $14.62 Pros: A lot larger than it looks Fast service Super clean Cons: weird parking lot Cash only Notes: Atm inside Pancake deal -2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon for $4 and some change Overall, just like any other typical Mexican operated charbroil grill type of restaurant but it felt a little lighter than yellow basket.

I love going to diner's and Red Hill Cafe was great. Good service, good food and good prices. What more can you ask for. Came here for breakfast on a Saturday and the family loved it. The parking is a little difficult, but the food and service makes up for it. Liked the burrito and the eggs...can't mess up eggs. Overall I nice experience.

Probably the best home fries and breakfast burritos we've ever had. Nothing fancy, but great food at reasonable prices.
